ADANA: In a powerful demonstration of solidarity, students from southern Trkiye have curated an exhibition titled “Gaza in My Heart,” featuring 50 meticulously crafted artworks.
Hosted at a local middle school in Adana’s Seyhan district, the exhibition showcases creations by students from Seyhan Youth Center and Kivanc Anatolian Imam Hatip High School. The artworks range from poignant paintings to symbolic sculptures, all conveying messages of solidarity with Palestine.
One striking piece features a wooden plaque with a carved figure, symbolizing innocence and resilience in the face of adversity.
In another artwork, two butterflies are depicted with wings bearing the flags of Palestine and Turkey, their intertwined bodies symbolizing unity amidst struggle.
A powerful image portrays a woman’s face veiled with a hijab patterned after the Palestinian flag, her eye conveying deep emotion through a single tear. A nearby sign in Turkish reads, “In memory of the children massacred in Gaza,” serving as a solemn r
eminder of the human toll of the conflict.
Through this diverse collection, the students’ creativity and their heartfelt support for Gaza are vividly expressed.
During the opening ceremony, Seyhan District Governor Ekrem Inci denounced Israel’s ongoing actions in Gaza, emphasizing violations of human rights and international law that have claimed thousands of innocent lives.
Attendees gathered for Quranic recitations and prayers, honoring those lost in Gaza.
Visitors to the exhibition were deeply moved by the students’ artworks, reflecting on the profound theme of solidarity and support for Gaza.
