Turkey’s fait accompli policy ‘unacceptable’, Greek Foreign Minister says

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said Athens does not accept Turkey’s fait accompli and does not succumb to threats from the neighbouring country, while addressing a debate on the state budget in the Hellenic Parliament.

Referring to Greek-Turkish relations, the Cyprus problem, and the 2019 Turkish-Libyan memorandum over maritime zones, Dendias said that the tactic of “first breaking the law and then negotiating illegality for a legal exchange has come to an end”. “And this applies to Cyprus and to the Cyprus problem, where Turkey must return to the framework of a UN solution,” he stressed.
