The Cypriot Deputy Ministry for Tourism and the French Alsace Tourism Organisation signed a memorandum of cooperation in matters of mutual interests.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday by the Deputy Ministry the memorandum was signed during a visit by the Deputy Minister Savvas Perdios to Strasbourg, his second visit since last September. The signing took place in the presence of Mayors of the Alsace region and other tourist stakeholders.
In the memorandum, the two sides state their commitment for cooperation in matters of mutual interest, such as wine routes, gastronomy, nature trails and cycling tourism, rural tourism, Christmas villages, colourful villages and authenticity of the tourist product.
On the occasion of the signing of the memorandum, Perdios referred to the importance of this cooperation and outlined the Deputy Ministry’s action aiming at enriching Cyprus’ tourist product placing special emphasis on boosting special forms of tourism and the promotion of destination labels.
The Ministry also said that the memorandum was the first of its kind to be singed between a European state and the Alsace Tourist Organisation.
