Nicosia: The Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) has expressed satisfaction with the continued positive momentum in the investment sector, as highlighted by the latest data from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. The report indicates that the number of Authorised, Registered, and Approved Management Companies and Undertakings for Collective Investments has reached a historic high of 260.
According to Cyprus News Agency, total Assets Under Management (AuM) have climbed to £11.4 billion, nearing the highest levels ever recorded. Additionally, investments directly funneled into the Cypriot economy have totaled £2.8 billion, underscoring the sector's growing contribution to the real economy.
CIFA President Maria Panayiotou stated that these figures confirm the maturing and expanding nature of Cyprus's investment funds sector, which is characterized by strong qualitative growth. "The new sustainable increase in the number of active entities, together with the solid growth in Assets Under Management, reflects the continued confidence of the international investment community. Our strategic objective remains the qualitative scaling of the collective investment ecosystem. That means more activity, with an even stronger emphasis on governance, transparency, and long-term value. The sector can and should act as a catalyst for the further upgrading of the country's economic model," she commented.
In a global environment marked by uncertainty and intensifying competition, maintaining stability, predictability, and Cyprus's competitive advantages are crucial. The statement further emphasized the importance of enhancing institutional maturity, implementing the European regulatory framework effectively, and developing specialized human capital to sustain the sector's positive momentum.
CIFA is committed to supporting its members and promoting Cyprus as a reliable and competitive international investment funds center, contributing significantly to the sustainable growth of the Cypriot economy, the statement concludes.
