Top Spanish Parliament Officials to Visit Cyprus for Diplomatic Engagement

NICOSIA: President of the Congress of Deputies of Spain, Francina Armengol Socias, along with Vice President of the Senate, Javier Ignacio Maroto Aranzabal, are scheduled to visit Cyprus from January 12 to 15. The visit marks a significant diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the visit is being organized at the invitation of Annita Demetriou, the President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus. The visit is expected to foster discussions on bilateral relations and cooperation within the framework of the European Union and the Union for the Mediterranean.

Socias, who is also the Head of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean until June 2025, will likely engage in talks focusing on regional collaboration and legislative cooperation. The visit underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Spain and Cyprus, with potential dialogues on economic, cultural, and political matters.
