Nicosia: President of the Congress of Deputies of Spain, Francina Armengol Socias, and Vice President of the Senate, Javier Ignacio Maroto Aranzabal, are scheduled to embark on an official visit to Cyprus from January 12 to 15. The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and engage in discussions with Cypriot leaders.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the visit is occurring at the invitation of Annita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus. Socias, who also serves as the Head of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean until June 2025, is expected to use this visit as an opportunity to discuss regional cooperation and Mediterranean issues.
The agenda for the visit includes meetings with Cypriot officials and discussions on bilateral relations between Spain and Cyprus. The Spanish delegation’s visit underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration and address shared challenges within the region.
