Cyprus: Cyprus is set to experience noticeably cooler weather over the weekend after several days of intense heat, with temperatures falling below seasonal averages on Sunday before rising again early next week.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Meteorological Service reports that seasonal low pressure is affecting the area. Saturday will be mainly fine although locally increased cloud is expected later in the day, bringing isolated showers, mainly over the mountains and eastern parts of the island.
Temperatures are expected to reach around 34C inland, 33C along most coasts, 30C on the west coast, and 25C in the highest mountains. Fresh southwesterly to northwesterly winds are expected, reaching up to force 6 Beaufort at times along the southeast coast.
Saturday night will be mostly clear, with a slight chance of an isolated shower early in the evening in eastern areas. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 22C inland and along the coast and 14C in the higher mountains.
The Meteorological Service said Sunday will remain mostly fine, although isolated afternoon showers are possible over mountainous areas. Fair weather is forecast to continue on Monday and Tuesday.
Temperatures on Sunday are expected to remain below the seasonal average, offering relief after the recent heatwave. However, a gradual warming trend is forecast from Monday, with temperatures rising above normal by Tuesday.
