Nicosia: A significant drop in temperature and severe weather conditions are expected tomorrow, said Michalis Mouskos, Senior Meteorological Officer at the Department of Meteorology, speaking to CNA on Friday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, rain and thunderstorms are anticipated throughout the day and into the early evening in several parts of Cyprus. A warning is due to be issued on Friday afternoon, which is likely to be an 'orange' warning due to the severity of the conditions.
Mouskos noted that temperatures, which are around 39 degrees inland and 34 on the coast on Friday, will drop to 30 on Saturday. However, from Sunday onwards, temperatures will begin to rise, returning to normal seasonal levels by Tuesday, around 36 degrees inland and 32 on the coast.
He added that unsettled weather will persist in the mountains over the coming days, with isolated showers expected on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Passing showers and hail may also occur today.
Mouskos advised drivers to be vigilant when traveling on the roads on Saturday and to avoid staying outdoors during thunderstorms.
