Strong Winds Expected to Affect Cyprus Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for strong winds across the region’s coastal areas. The forecast, valid from 12:00 on February 6, 2025, until 12:00 on February 7, 2025, indicates that low atmospheric pressure is impacting the area, resulting in partly cloudy weather with a chance of isolated light showers.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the warning, identified as Warning Number 3, indicates that strong northwesterly to northeasterly winds with a force of 6 on the Beaufort scale are anticipated to affect the eastern, southern, and northern coastal areas of Cyprus. The sea state is expected to be moderate during this period.

The atmospheric pressure at the time of the weather bulletin’s issuance was recorded at 1010 hPa, with sea surface temperatures at 19°C. Visibility in the area is projected to remain good despite the weather conditions. Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions due to the strong wind conditions.
