Stelios Awards for Young Entrepreneurs in Cyprus 2025: Applications Open Until September 8

Nicosia: Applications for the “Stelios Awards for Young Entrepreneurs in Cyprus” are now being accepted, with the deadline set for September 8, 2025. The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation is conducting this competition for the third year in a row, offering a total of £200,000 to support three outstanding business ideas.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the prize fund for this year’s awards has been doubled compared to 2024. The first prize winner will receive £100,000, while the second and third prizes will be £60,000 and £40,000, respectively. The awards target young entrepreneurs under the age of 34 who have founded a company in the Republic of Cyprus within the past five years, with a minimum annual turnover of £40,000. The competition is open to young entrepreneurs of any nationality.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, commenting on the awards, emphasized the potential of Cyprus’s young generation to innovate and positively transform the entrepreneurial landscape. He stated that the increased prize money aims to provide greater support during the critical initial stages of business development, acknowledging the importance of a strong start for future success. The awards are intended to be a catalyst for young entrepreneurs to establish enduring businesses, create jobs, and strengthen the Cypriot economy.

Applications are open from June 20, 2025, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply online. The interview process will be conducted virtually, and the Awards Ceremony is scheduled for October 7, 2025, with Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou presenting the prizes.

Since 2015, the European Week of Sport and its #BeActive campaign have encouraged active lifestyles across Europe, reaching 42 countries and regions and involving over 103 million participants in more than 353,000 events. Taking place again this year from 23 to 30 September 2025, thousands of awareness-raising and on-the-ground events will be organised across participating countries. Applications are also open for the new #BeActive EU Sport Awards, which recognise and celebrate projects across the continent encouraging sport and physical activity. The call will close on 24 September.
