GDP in Cyprus rose by a mere 0.2% during the second quarter of 2021 when compared to the previous quarter, but rose by 12.9% compared to the same time last year, according to the latest estimates released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
Cypriot GDP had increased by 9.4% during the 3rd quarter of 2020 compared to the previous quarter, but the increase by quarter had slowed down during the 4th quarter (1.3%) of the same year and during the 1st quarter of 2021 (1.7%).
Compared to the same period last year, Cyprus’s GDP had shrunk by 4.5% during the 3rd quarter of 2020, by 4.4% during the 4th quarter of the same year and by 2.1% during the 1st quarter of 2021.
