Limassol: Two individuals with extensive burn injuries were transferred to the Burns Unit at Nicosia General Hospital, and their condition is considered serious but not critical, Charalambos Charilaou, spokesperson for the State Health Services Organisation (SHSO), told the Cyprus News Agency.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Emergency Department at Limassol General Hospital received a total of 16 people suffering from respiratory problems, burns, and injuries, of whom five were admitted to hospital wards. Two of the five were transferred to the Burns Unit at Nicosia General Hospital, while the rest were discharged.
Charilaou noted that two individuals were also admitted to Troodos Hospital due to respiratory problems. Regarding the condition of the two burn patients hospitalised at the Burns Unit, Charilaou said, “their condition is considered serious but not critical.” He added that although they have extensive burn areas, they are not intubated nor on mechanical support.
Meanwhile, according to Charilaou at the First Aid Station set up in Erimi, around 40 cases have been examined so far, some of which have been transferred to the Emergency Department of Limassol General Hospital. He emphasized that the First Aid Station remains open in Erimi today as well, urging the public to visit and receive first aid if needed.
Charilaou stated that after an initial assessment-if necessary-patients will be transported to Limassol General Hospital.
