BELGRADE: Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Thursday that the country will sign a major energy contract with the US next week that will meet the country’s growing demand for the commodity for several years ahead.
‘Next week, we will sign an extremely important energy contract with the US that will mean a lot to our country in the future and provide us with what is important, including the ability to literally have electricity for several years, which is not easy in the modern world,’ Vucic said after meeting with Jose Fernandez, the US undersecretary for economic growth, energy, and the environment, in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade.
‘The contract will be signed on Wednesday,” he announced at a joint press conference.
He said, ‘It is an honor, a privilege, and an opportunity for us to discuss one of the most important aspects of our relationship with the United States of America. We had a good and long meaningful conversation.’
