Seasonal Low Pressure Impacts Cyprus Sea Area with Moderate Winds

Nicosia: Seasonal low pressure is affecting the Cyprus region, causing changes in weather and sea conditions over the next 24-hour period. The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast indicating mainly fine weather in the evening, with increased low cloud coverage expected tonight and tomorrow night. Local mist and fog patches are anticipated, particularly over the southern and eastern parts of the region.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is expected to be good overall, but it may decrease to moderate or poor in areas affected by mist. The sea surface temperature remains steady at 28°C, with no warnings issued for the period. Winds along the west coast are predicted to vary from west to northwest, reaching speeds of 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale, resulting in sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight. On the south coast, similar wind patterns are expected, with conditions forecasted to become slight to moderate in some areas by afternoon.

The east coast will experience winds from the southeast to southwest, increasing to south to southwest, with sea conditions remaining smooth to slight. The north coast will have winds shifting from southeast to southwest, increasing offshore. Overall, the state of the sea around Cyprus is expected to remain slight, with no significant disturbances reported for the forecast period.
