Nicosia: On Sunday, the risk of explosion and the spread of forest fires will remain at a "Red Alert" level, the Department of Forests says in a press release issued on Saturday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Department emphasizes that causing a fire, as per the Forest Law and the Law on the Prevention and Suppression of Fires in the Countryside, is an offense that carries severe penalties.
The Department appeals to the public to exercise extreme caution during their outdoor activities, advising them to completely avoid any actions that could potentially ignite a fire.
Furthermore, it urges anyone who notices smoke or fire to immediately contact the authorities by calling 1407 for the Department of Forests or 112 for the Fire Service.
