RIF Unveils Consultation for £10M Programme to Boost Cypriot Manufacturing

Nicosia: The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has announced the launch of a consultation for a new funding programme titled “STEP: Setting up Facilities and Production Lines for Manufacturing New Innovative Products/Services.” The programme is designed to aid Cypriot companies of all sizes by providing a total budget of £10 million. The aim is to support the development of critical technologies and the establishment of facilities and production lines for manufacturing innovative products across various sectors, such as digital and deep technology innovation, clean and resource-efficient technologies, and biotechnologies.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the programme aligns with Regulation 2024/795 of the European Commission, which establishes the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP). The consultation follows a market sounding exercise conducted by RIF to gauge the interest of Cypriot businesses in setting up these facilities and production lines. Interested parties are invited to participate in the consultation by completing an available questionnaire by January 26, 2025, through the provided link.
