Nicosia: Retail trade in Cyprus experienced notable growth in both value and volume throughout 2025. The Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade showed an increase of 6.1%, while the Volume Index rose by 7.9% when compared to the previous year, 2024.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service indicated that the most significant increase in value was observed in the category of Food, beverages, and tobacco in specialised stores, which grew by 14.5%. Similarly, the category of Clothing and footwear saw the highest volume growth at 14.5%.
In December 2025, retail trade continued its upward trend, with the Turnover Value Index increasing by 5.8% compared to December 2024. The Turnover Volume Index for the same month registered an even more considerable increase of 8.9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
