Copenhagen: Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Nicodemos Damianou, travels to Copenhagen to participate in an informal EU Competitiveness Council focusing on research matters. The Council aims to establish a unified European strategy to advance key technologies, including artificial intelligence and semiconductors. Additionally, the role of research and innovation in the 10th Framework Programme as a fundamental pillar for growth and competitiveness will be a major topic of discussion, as highlighted in a press release from the Deputy Ministry.
According to Cyprus News Agency, on the sidelines of the informal Council, Dr. Damianou will engage in separate meetings with his counterparts from Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, and the United Kingdom. These meetings are part of the preparations for Cyprus’s upcoming EU Council Presidency in 2026.
