Repatriation of 239 persons who were in Cyprus illegally in previous 7 days

A total of 239 persons, who resided illegally in Cyprus, were repatriated between January 19 and 26 this year police said.

A police press release on Saturday informs that since the beginning of 2024, 814 people who resided illegally in Cyprus have been repatriated, through forced and voluntary return procedures.

According to the same data, in 2023 9,699 third-country nationals were repatriated.

Police also note that on Thursday night 16 third country nationals departed from Larnaca Airport under the escort of members of the Immigration Service, as part of a joint return operation, organised by French Police under the coordination of the European Border and Coast Guard (FRONTEX), with the participation of Cyprus Police.
