Brussels: Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna will travel to Brussels on Monday to chair the EU General Affairs Council, which will take place on Tuesday, according to an announcement. The Council's agenda includes preparation for the European Council Summit, scheduled for 19-20 March in Brussels. Key topics of discussion are expected to include Ukraine, the Middle East, EU competitiveness and the single market, the new Multiannual Financial Framework, European defense and security, and migration.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministers will also exchange views on the European Center for Democratic Resilience during an informal working lunch. While in Brussels, Raouna is set to participate in a joint event of the Swedish Delegation to the EU and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. This event will focus on simplifying the European regulatory framework, reducing the administrative burden for businesses, and strengthening the competitiveness of the European economy.
Raouna is also scheduled to speak at an event organized by the European Policy Centre (EPC) Think Tank. The event will address the four-year mark since Russia's war against Ukraine and the strengthening of European support for Ukraine.
