Nicosia: Rainfall up to 9:00 am on August 20 reached 255% of the month's average, totaling 498.5 millimeters according to preliminary data of the Department of Meteorology on Thursday. Average rainfall exceeded the monthly norm at all of the Meteorological Department's measuring stations, with some locations recording more than ten times their average norm.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the highest rainfall excess was recorded at Bridge of Panagia with 1,593%. Other significant increases include Lythrodontas at 1,270%, Kornos at 1,108%, Larnaca Airport at 800%, and Platania at 471%. From October 1 to date, average rainfall was recorded at 117% of the normal level, reaching 585.7 millimeters, with all stations having exceeded 100% of the normal level.
