Jakarta:A significant weather system is forecasted to bring rain and thunderstorms to Cyprus starting Wednesday afternoon, as announced by a Meteorological Officer.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the system is anticipated to arrive from the west, with effects likely to persist until Friday. An updated trajectory of the system is expected to be clearer by Monday.
The system is predicted to form over the Ionian Sea and move towards mainland Greece, before heading to the southern Aegean and ultimately reaching Cyprus. Concerns have been raised about potential heavy rainfall and flooding, as the storms could result in such conditions.
Sporadic rainfall is expected in Cyprus leading up to Wednesday, particularly in mountainous regions, as well as possibly inland and in the northern areas of the island. The western regions are forecasted to experience the initial impact of the rain system on Wednesday afternoon, with subsequent movement across other parts of Cyprus.
