Nicosia: President Nikos Christodoulides stated on Tuesday that he is 'in constant contact' with Greece's Prime Minister concerning the ongoing presence of Greek naval and air forces in Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides made these remarks during his arrival at an event organized by the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia. In response to a journalist's inquiry about the decisions regarding the Greek military forces stationed in Cyprus, he emphasized that the Greek Government had already made an official statement on the matter.
"We are in continuous contact on this specific issue, both with the Greek Prime Minister and at the level of the Defence Ministers. The initial announcement has been made. When there are further developments, we will be here to announce them," President Christodoulides stated. He also mentioned that he preferred not to make any additional public comments on the issue at this stage.
