President Expresses Solidarity with UAE During Meeting with Country’s FM

Nicosia: President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, expressed Cyprus' solidarity with the United Arab Emirates during a meeting he had on Monday afternoon with the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Government Spokesperson, Constantinos Letymbiotis, said in a written statement.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Letymbiotis stated that Cyprus President and Al Nahyan exchanged views on regional developments and the challenges and underlined the need to de-escalate tensions and have security and stability in the area.

Letymbiotis said that President Christodoulides reiterated Cyprus' solidarity with the UAE and other countries of the Gulf and the wider region that are directly affected by the crisis, underlining the role of Cyprus as a reliable partner and factor of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The two officials also reaffirmed the close cooperation and the continuous coordination of the two countries on issues of mutual interest, the Spokesman noted.
