Manama: President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides, who concluded on Monday his two-day official visit to Bahrain, inaugurated the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Manama.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the great importance that the Republic of Cyprus attaches to the further strengthening of its relations with Bahrain, as well as with all Gulf countries, is demonstrated by the opening of an Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Manama.
The President, who paid a two-day official visit to Bahrain, at the invitation of the King of the country, inaugurated the new Embassy of the Republic during a ceremony which was attended by the Cypriot delegation that is accompanying the President and by high-ranking officials of the Government of Bahrain.
It is noted that the Republic of Cyprus is among the four EU member states that maintain an Embassy in Bahrain, which, among other things, demonstrates the firm willingness of the Cypriot government to strengthen its relations with the states of the Gulf region.
Bahrain is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and the Presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council for 2026-2027, the press release concludes.
