Nicosia: President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides reiterated on Tuesday his commitment to the implementation of the tax reform as of January 1, 2026, during the opening of a meeting at the Presidential Palace. He pointed out that this would be the final meeting on the matter and called for all outstanding issues to be resolved so that the legislative proposals can be submitted to Parliament without delay or deviation from the timeline.
According to Cyprus News Agency, during the start of the meeting on tax reform, President Christodoulides said that this was the last gathering to be convened on the subject. “Therefore, today all outstanding issues must be concluded. I want to be informed about the readiness of the draft legislation so we can move forward to the National Council level,” he stated.
He noted that, in coordination with the Minister of Finance, a final briefing to the political parties is planned before the draft legislation is submitted to Parliament, stressing that the reform is set to be implemented on January 1, 2026, a timeline from which there will be no deviation.
