President Anastasiades to hold meetings next week aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life

President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades will hold a number of meetings next week on migration, the operation of the waste management centre in Koshi as well as issues regarding the quality of life of citizens.

In a press release on Sunday, Head of the President’s Press Office, Andreas Iosif said that on Holy Monday, on the occasion of European Patients’ Rights Day 2022, President Anastasiades will meet with a delegation of the Federation of Patients’ Rights association on the island in the presence of Health Minister Michalis Hadzipantela.

The president is expected to repeat his determination for the smooth operation of the General Health System on the basis of the philosophy on which it was established, securing benefits for the whole of society, noting it was the biggest social reform ever implemented on the island.

He will also address an event on the restoration and rejuvenation of Nicosia within the walls which will be presented at the Presidential Palace by the Ministers of Finance and Interior as well as the Mayor of Nicosia. The plan deals with incentives to develop the city centre.

President Anastasiades will also participate in a meeting on the Koshi Integrated Solid Waste Management (OEDA) which will be held in the presence of the minister of Agriculture, representatives of the Law Service of the Republic, the General Auditor and General Accountant.

On Holy Tuesday, President Anastasiades will chair a meeting on migration. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Justice, Defence, the Attorney General, the Chiefs of Police and the National Guard, as well as ministry officials will take part.

On Holy Wednesday, President Anastasiades will chair a cabinet meeting and will visit military camps in Nicosia district to extend wishes to members and soldiers of the National Guard in view of the Easter holidays.
