Poland-Denmark-Cyprus Trio to Strengthen European Union, Cyprus Official States

NICOSIA: The Poland-Denmark-Cyprus trio, set to lead the Council of the European Union, has committed to fortifying the EU’s security, competitiveness, prosperity, and democracy, according to Cyprus’ Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna. As Poland begins its presidency on January 1, Raouna emphasized the collective determination of the trio to enhance the EU’s role globally and its impact on citizens.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Raouna highlighted the strategic goals of the trio in a post on ‘X’, marking the onset of the Polish presidency. She expressed optimism for 2025 and underscored the collaborative efforts of Poland, Denmark, and Cyprus in driving the EU towards delivering more substantial benefits to its citizens. The trio’s agenda focuses on reinforcing the EU’s position on the world stage while ensuring internal growth and security.

Cyprus is scheduled to take over the presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026. The rotation of the presidency among member states every six months allows for continuity in policies and initiatives, with the trio working closely to align their priorities and strategies.
