The Chief Returning Officer informed on Wednesday the campaign offices of the two candidates for Sunday’s repeat presidential election about the procedures to be followed during the proclamation ceremony of the new President of the Republic.
CNA has learnt that a meeting to go through the final details also took place between representatives of candidates and the Chief Returning Officer on Wednesday afternoon.
In a letter he sent to the two candidates’ offices, the Chief Returning Officer says that the proclamation ceremony of the new President of the Republic is scheduled to take place in the closed stadium “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria “, on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m. The exact time will depend on the time of the final official results.
The indoor space of the stadium has a capacity of 4,400 people.
He stresses that those wishing to attend should proceed to the venue no later than 9 o’clock in the evening in order to have time to be checked by the Police and be seated.
In the event that a greater number of people wants to attend than the capacity of the stadium, arrangements have been made to watch the ceremony from outside the stadium.
