Warsaw: The Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, George Papanastasiou, is flying on Monday to Warsaw, where he will participate in the Informal Meeting of the EU Energy Ministers, within the framework of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
According to Cyprus News Agency, on the sidelines of the meeting Papanastasiou will participate in a working breakfast of the “Friends of Renewables” group, discussing the future of the EU’s single electricity market in light of the role of Renewable Energy Sources (RES).
It is added that, among other things, the Informal Meeting agenda includes a discussion on energy security, the access to vital clean technologies, as well as the plans for rebuilding Ukraine’s energy system and accelerating the legal harmonization of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova with the EU’s energy acquis.
Papanastasiou will return to Cyprus on Wednesday, May 14, the press release concluded.
