Nicosia: The results of the Pancyprian access examinations were announced on Tuesday, putting an end to the anxiety of thousands of students who sought to secure a place in undergraduate courses at universities in Cyprus or Greece. As announced in the morning during a press conference at the Ministry of Education, 5,120 candidates initially applied to participate, while 3,091 places are available.
According to Cyprus News Agency, 4,938 candidates participated, and 21,286 answer sheets were received for a total of 56 entrance exam subjects. Speaking at the announcement of the results for Higher Education Institutions in Cyprus and Military Academies in Greece, the Minister of Education, Sport, and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, said that today marks the completion of an important cycle for thousands of young people. In particular, Michaelidou offered her ‘heartfelt congratulations’ to the students who secured a place in higher education institutions.
She also mentioned that the Ministry is consistently investing in improving the quality of education at Cyprus’ public universities. “We can proudly say that they are recognised centres of academic excellence, with modern curricula, high-quality teaching, and links to the job market. Good luck to everyone. Education is the most powerful tool for building the future you dream of,” she added.
In his written statement, the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, congratulated all the children who took part in the Pancyprian Examinations. Addressing those who did not achieve the results they hoped for, President Christodoulides stressed that “life is not judged by a single moment.” He emphasized, “The route to personal and professional fulfillment has many opportunities and many paths. With perseverance, faith, and hard work, you can turn every difficulty into a springboard for the future you dream of.”
“Congratulations to all our children. Cyprus is proud of its young generation, its strength, its dreams, and the hope it brings for the future. The future belongs to you, and the State will be by your side to build it together,” the President concluded.
