Palestinian and Cypriot Presidents Discuss Developments in Palestinian Territories

Ramallah: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides engaged in discussions concerning the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the strong bilateral relations between the two nations. The meeting took place at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, President Abbas updated President Christodoulides on the current situation in the Palestinian region, emphasizing ongoing communications with various parties. The discussions highlighted the urgent need for a ceasefire, the release of detainees and prisoners, and the swift entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Gaza Strip. Other priorities included the Palestinian Authority’s control over civil and security matters, disarmament of non-state actors, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and the initiation of reconstruction efforts without further displacement.

The Cypriot President reiterated Cyprus’s unwavering support for peace an
d stability based on international legitimacy and the principle of a two-state solution. He expressed the hope of enhancing the strong bilateral relations between Cyprus and Palestine, underscoring the shared commitment to peace and cooperation.
