An orange warning for extreme high temperature was issued by the Meteo Service.
It is valid from 2200 Tuesday night until 1700 Wednesday local time.
According to the warning overnight the minimum temperature will fall to around 26 C inland and over the coasts (southwestern coastal areas not included).
On Wednesday the maximum temperature will be around 44 degrees inland and around 35 over Troodos highest peaks.
The Department of Forests extended a warning for Wednesday, noting that it will remain on “red alert” for forest fires, while urging the public to be particularly careful.
If they become aware of smoke or fire people are asked to immediately call 1407 (Forests Department) or 112 (Fire Service).
