Nicosia: Non-Performing Loans (NPL) ratio of the banking sector, excluding loans and advances to Central Banks and Credit Institutions, has recorded a decrease, according to updated aggregate Cyprus banking sector data (non-performing loans data) with 30 September 2025 as reference date, published on Tuesday by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, as of the end of September 2025, the press release said, the Non-Performing Loans (NPL) ratio of the banking sector, excluding loans and advances to Central Banks and Credit Institutions declined to 4.5%, compared with 5.6% at the end of June 2025.
The NPL ratio, as per the methodology applied in the European Banking Authority's (EBA) Risk Dashboard, i.e. including loans and advances to Central Banks and Credit Institutions, declined to 2.3% at the end of September 2025, compared with 2.9% at the end of June 2025.
The coverage ratio of NPLs with provisions increased to 68.5% at the end of September 2025, compared with 62.0% at the end of June 2025.
Total restructured loans at the end of September 2025 amounted to pound 1.0 bn, out of which loans of pound 0.5 bn continue to be classified as NPLs, the press release concluded.
