Nicosia Green Points received 8,000 tons of waste in 2023, according to figures published Friday. A total of 100,000 citizens visited these points.

The figures show that 68% of the 8,000 tons, i.e. 5,500 tons, were related to pruning.

The remaining 1,000 tons are bulky waste such as furniture, mattresses and carpets, while other types of waste collected are electrical appliances, wood and iron.

The largest volume of waste (55%) was collected at Strovolos Green Point , followed by Alambra (15%) and Ergates (14%).

The Green Points have contributed to the reduction of illegal disposal of waste and the protection of the environment and public health, the press release says.
