Newcastle United on Sunday signed English winger Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.
“Newcastle United are delighted to announce the signing of winger Harvey Barnes for an undisclosed fee.
“The 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract and becomes the Magpies’ third signing of the summer following the arrivals of promising forward Yankuba Minteh and Italian international midfielder Sandro Tonali,” Newcastle United said in a statement.
Barnes came through Leicester City’s youth academy and played for the Foxes’ senior team.
He scored 45 goals and made 32 assists in 187 appearances for Leicester City.
Barnes helped the Foxes win an English FA Cup and an FA Community Shield.
In the 2022-23 football season, Barnes scored 13 goals in 34 English Premier League matches for Leicester City, but the Foxes were relegated to a lower division in May.
