Minister discusses crises related issues with Director General of DG Reform

The reorganization, development and strengthening of Cyprus’ civil protection, with an emphasis on 112 emergency number and the early warning system in cases of crises and natural disasters were discussed during a meeting Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou had Thursday with Directorate-General of EC DG Reform Mario Nava.

The Minister discussed with Nava the possibility of contributing to the creation of a platform for the evaluation of skills and qualifications of third country nationals, in the context of strategic integration, a Ministry press release says.

On the meeting’s agenda was also the provision of technical assistance in the ongoing procedures for the establishment of the Deputy Ministry of Migration and Asylum.

During the meeting, there was a review of the progress of the implementation of programmes, for which the Ministry of Interior received technical support. These include the effective management of issues related to money laundering and financing of terrorist organisations and the st
rengthening of the real estate assessment in terms of its high volume.

The Minister also discussed with the European official ways to further strengthen the transport of goods within the framework of Green Line regulation.
