Nicosia: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Sunday "profound concern" over reported sectarian attacks against Christians in the Hama and Homs governorates of neighboring Syria.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry took note of an investigation that has been announced and urged for its rapid conclusion. They emphasized the necessity for perpetrators to be held accountable for their actions.
The Ministry further highlighted the importance of protecting the rights and security of all Syrians, regardless of their religious or ethnic background. They reaffirmed that peaceful integration and inclusive transition are crucial for a unified Syria, which is essential for regional stability and cooperation with the EU.
