Premier Giorgia Meloni will take part in a video-conference on the situation in Israel on Monday with United States President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, sources said.
Earlier on Meloni reiterated the government’s solidarity with the Israeli people and the Italian Jewish community in light of the attacks Hamas launched at the weekend.
“Today more than ever, after the horrible and barbaric events that are taking place in Israel, the government expresses its closeness and solidarity with the people of Israel and the Italian Jewish communities,” said Meloni in a statement on the 41st anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Great Synagogue in Rome in which one person, two-year-old Stefano Gaj Taché, was killed and 37 were injured.
“Terror will never prevail,” she added.
