Nicosia: From Wednesday onwards a mass installation of smart meters will continue across Cyprus, the Cyprus Electricity Authority has said. In a press release on Wednesday, EAC stated that smart meters would be installed in various locations across the Nicosia district, including Lakatamia, the Archangelos roundabout area, and several prominent streets and avenues, such as Spyros Kyprianou and Archangelos Michael Avenues. The installation will also cover areas in Strovolos and Pedieos Linear Park.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Limassol will also see a significant installation effort, with smart meters being placed in the Limassol Marina Area and along several major streets including Franklin Roosevelt, Misiaouli, and Kavazoglou Streets. Additional installations are planned for areas bordered by Spyrou Araouzou, Ellados, and other streets. Concurrently, single-phase meter works will occur in areas like Omonia and Agios Spyridonas.
In the Larnaca district, smart meters will be installed in Aradippou and along several major avenues, including Grigoris Afxentiou Avenue and Archbishop Makarios III Avenue. Meanwhile, in the Paphos district, installations will cover areas between Tombs of the Kings Avenue and the communal borders of Chloraka, among others.
The Electricity Authority has informed residents that during the meter replacement process, the electricity supply will be temporarily interrupted, though this is not expected to exceed 20 minutes. The Authority has apologized for any inconvenience this may cause.
