An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck Cyprus region at 2:18 on Sunday (local time).
The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that its epicentre was located 47 kilometers west-southwest of Limassol and 25 kilometers southeast of Paphos. The tremor originated at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the surface.
Residents of Limassol and Paphos said in posts on social media that they felt the earthquake, though no significant damage or injuries have been reported so far.
