Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus indicating a low-pressure system affecting the region. Initially, the area is expected to experience isolated showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm. However, the weather is anticipated to become mainly fine later, with locally increased cloud coverage.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and considers atmospheric conditions for the period from 0600 on January 26, 2025, until 0600 on January 27, 2025. The atmospheric pressure at the time of issuance was recorded at 1020 hPa. Visibility in the region is generally good but can deteriorate to moderate or poor during showers.
Sea surface temperatures are reported to be at 19°C, with no warnings currently issued for the area. Meteorological observations indicate that winds in the area will be measured on the Beaufort scale, and all times mentioned in the forecast are local times.
