Liquidity in the Cyprus banking system close to €17 billion in March 2021

Liquidity (the difference between deposits and loans) in the Cyprus banking system amounted to 16.8 billion in March 2021, according to data published by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) on Thursday.

 

According to the CBC, total deposits in March 2021 recorded a net increase of €270.2 million, compared with a net decrease of €92.4 million in February 2021, with the annual growth rate at 1.7%, compared with 0.2% in February 2021.

 

The outstanding amount of deposits reached €48.4 billion in March 2021, the CBC added.

 

According to the CBC, total loans in March 2021 recorded a net decrease of €19.9 million, compared with a net decrease of €288.0 million in February 2021. The annual growth rate stood at 1.9%, compared with 2.1% in February 2021.

 

The outstanding amount of total loans reached €31.6 billion in March 2021.
