Job vacancies rise to 9,643 at end of Q4 2021

The number of job vacancies in Cyprus rose to 9,643 in the 4th quarter of 2021, rising by 94.3% year on year, data released on Wednesday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cysta) show.

Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2021 the number of job vacancies increased by 3,285 or by 51.7%.

The job vacancy rate in the 4th quarter of 2021 was 2.4%, while the job vacancy rate in the previous quarter and the 4th quarter of 2020 was 2.4% and 1.3% respectively.

The greatest job vacancy rates in the 4th quarter of 2021 were recorded in the Sectors of Information and Communication with 4.2%, followed by Accommodation and Food Service Activities with 3.3%, while job vacancies in Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles amounted to 3,1% and in Manufacturing 3.0%, Cystat said.
