ISTANBUL: Chelsea confirmed on Wednesday the signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on a seven-year contract. 'I'm really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can't wait to get started. I can see some familiar faces from the last time I was here, which is always nice," Felix said in a statement. "I loved my time here before and I told my friends and family that I'd love to return to the Premier League one day. To do that with Chelsea is a great feeling and I'm excited to be back," he added. Felix previously spent time on loan with the Blues, joining in the winter window and finishing the 2022/23 season in the English top-tier club, scoring four times in 20 games. The 24-year-old formerly played for Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. He won the 2018-19 Portuguese top-tier title with Benfica and the 2021 Spanish La Liga with Atletico Madrid. The second striker won the 2021 UEFA Nations League title with Portugal. On loan, he made appearances with Barcelona last season, scoring 10 goals in 44 appearances. Source: Anadolu Agency
