Nicosia: Investing in health, research, and innovation is an investment in our society, President Nikos Christodoulides stated during the ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone for the Physiotherapy Centre of The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics in Nicosia.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the President highlighted that the total grant from the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy to the Institute in 2025 is pound 8,444,000 for conducting research and education. Additionally, the Ministry of Health has allocated pound 6,130,000 for services from specialized medical and research centers, pound 3,000,000 for the purchase of medicines and vaccines, and pound 2,675,000 for the purchase of services from the State.
He expressed his pleasure at participating in the ceremony for the new Physiotherapy Centre, recalling his presence in June 2023 at the ceremony for the Centre for Applied Research and Innovation, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The President also mentioned that the swift commencement of construction, facilitated by a generous donation from an international foundation, demonstrates the global trust and support for the Institute’s mission and work.
He noted that since its establishment in 1990, the Institute has been a beacon of knowledge, innovation, research, and humanitarian service, serving as a model for integrating clinical services, research, and education.
