European Commission Approves Denmark’s Fourth Payment Request Under NextGenerationEU

Brussels: The European Commission has completed its assessment of Denmark’s fourth payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), approving the disbursement of £175.4 million. This marks another step in Denmark’s commitment to the NextGenerationEU initiative, aimed at fostering sustainable development and economic recovery across the EU.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Denmark has fulfilled the 5 milestones and 8 targets outlined in the Council Implementing Decision for this payment. The Commission’s approval indicates that Denmark has made satisfactory progress in implementing reforms and investments in key areas such as sustainable energy, organic farming, green mobility, and sustainable investments. With this new instalment, the total funds disbursed to Denmark under the RRF will exceed £1.26 billion, representing 78% of the funds allocated in the Danish plan, with 76% of milestones and targets achieved.

The funds are expected to drive significant positive changes for Danish citizens and businesses, particularly in enhancing sustainability and resilience. The payment is part of Denmark’s strategic plan to leverage EU resources for national development goals, aligning with broader EU objectives of economic recovery and sustainable growth.
