Invest Cyprus roadshow to three strategic countries in the Middle East

Invest Cyprus, the national investment promotion agency, has successfully held two events in Amman and Beirut focused on attracting tech companies to Cyprus. In addition, it has hosted another event in Cairo focusing on attracting family offices, wealth management firms, and investors to the country. According to a press release, the events in Amman and Beirut were attended by key players in the tech and finance industries in the region, including entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists, and executives. More than 50 high profile delegates participated in each event. Invest Cyprus showcased the country’s investment opportunities, highlighting its strategic location, competitive tax regime, and business-friendly environment. Attendees were given a comprehensive overview of the advantages of relocating and doing business in Cyprus and the various incentives available to foreign companies. Special emphasis was also given to the country’s fast-growing tech sector and the government’s commitment to supporting and nurturing innovative companies. The agency highlighted the benefits of setting up operations in Cyprus, including access to a highly skilled workforce, low operating costs, and access to the EU market. Dr Shadi Karam who has been an institutional investor in Cyprus for many years, talked to the participants about his experience. ‘When I am asked what attracts me to Cyprus, it takes me a while to sift through the many fascinating allures of the island, but I invariably answer: It’s the people. Why the people? Because they embody the unique mix of Western rigor and the charm of the laid-back nonchalance of the neighboring Orient; a mix that permeates every facet of Cypriot life and makes for a friendly and efficient business environment as well as a cocoon of quality living’, he said. At the event in Cairo, representatives from family offices, private equity funds, banks, leading local law firms and wealth management firms had the opportunity to hear about Cyprus’ advantages as a destination for family offices to set up operations but also identify investment opportunities. Invest Cyprus highlighted the country’s tax-efficient environment, advanced legal framework, and professional services sector. The event was also attended by some of Egypt’s leading investment groups focusing on tourism and hospitality and energy investments. Invest Cyprus executives presented them with investment opportunities and available projects that exist in the local market. “We are delighted with the success of these events and the level of interest they generated. Cyprus offers an unparalleled combination of advantages for tech companies and wealth management firms’, said Invest Cyprus acting CEO, Marios Tannousis. As he said all three countries have long been key markets for Cyprus and the aim was to further enhance the business and investment relationships with all of them.
