International Institute for Environmental and Public Health Joins School of Health Sciences

Limassol: The Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health (CII / Institute) has been officially integrated into the School of Health Sciences at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). This decision was approved by the House of Representatives and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus on June 20, 2025.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Institute has been a prominent scientific entity in Cyprus dedicated to studying the effects of environmental factors on public health since its inception in 2004. Initially founded through a partnership between the Republic of Cyprus and the Harvard School of Public Health, the Institute became part of CUT in 2009 under a tripartite agreement that included Harvard. Although the formal collaboration with Harvard ended in 2016, the Institute has continued to grow within CUT’s School of Health Sciences, leveraging the expertise gained from its collaboration with the prestigious American university.

The Institute’s press release emphasized its reputation as a leading academic and research institution in the field of Environmental and Public Health in Cyprus. The recent official establishment within CUT is expected to foster enhanced collaborations with governmental bodies and research organizations both within Cyprus and internationally.
