Nicosia: The SafeCY mobile application has been launched today, enabling citizens to locate the nearest shelter in real-time whenever needed. This innovative tool aims to enhance public safety by providing immediate access to vital information during emergencies.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry of Interior announced that the application is available for both Android devices via the PlayStore and iOS via the AppStore, supporting both Greek and English languages.
The app allows users to find nearby shelters based on their current location and offers alternative search options by address, postal code, and more. It also includes guidelines and useful information to ensure that citizens receive comprehensive support.
The ministry’s statement emphasizes that the SafeCY application leverages modern technology to bolster the early warning system for the population. The app’s development and operation align with the state’s objectives to enhance citizen protection, particularly during emergencies when swift and accurate information is crucial.
